What's the puzzle?

I'm thinking of a two-digit number. It's divisible by both 3 and 4, the sum of its digits is 9, and it's less than 50. What's the number?

How do you work it out?

A number divisible by both 3 and 4 is divisible by 12. The two-digit multiples of 12 under 50 are 12, 24, 36 and 48, with digit sums 3, 6, 9 and 12.

Only one of those, 36, has a digit sum of 9 - so that's the answer.
